Call for Abstracts and Workshop Outlines
We are seeking those interested in presenting a paper or workshop who have an inspiring, innovative, or educational case study, research or policy topic. As well as the latest key issues in waste management we are looking for skills development or training in areas such as landfills, contracts, planning and management. A one page (300-600 word) abstract is required by Friday 23rd March, complying with the guidelines below.
Format for Abstracts
Abstracts must conform to the following Guidelines:
- Include full name, position and organisation of proposed presenter(s);
- Include contact details (phone and email minimum) of proposed presenter(s);
- Include title of proposed paper/workshop;
- Include session theme which presentation fits into, and;
- Include 300-600 words about the presentation, including information such as –
- Project aims, timing and key findings
- The future direction of the research/study/project/policy
- Organisations involved and their roles
- Relevance to waste avoidance and resource recovery in Australia

Entitlements for Speakers
One speaker for each presentation provided at the conference will be entitled to attend the day of their presentation free of charge, including the provision of a conference satchel and proceedings, and day-time meals. Evening social events and accommodation are not included. If attending for more than the day of the presentation full fees must be paid for the other days. If more than one person is giving the presentation, the discount may be split between them (eg 50% off for each of two presenters) or allocated to one or the other as agreed.
Speaker Commitment
If your Abstract is selected for a position in the Conference Program you will be required to agree to the following conditions to confirm your position. Failure to comply with these conditions may result in your position as a speaker being cancelled.
- Speakers are required to submit the following by the date shown:
- Acceptance of Presentation Offer, including these conditions, by Friday 4 May 2007;
- Final Paper, or Final Workshop Outline, by Friday 31 August;
- Final PowerPoint Presentation, by Friday 31 August, and;
- Registration and Accommodation Booking Form, by Friday 14 September.
- All abstracts, presentations and papers will be supplied to conference delegates and the Conference Proceedings will be offered for sale after the conference to non-attendees.
