• The Pre-Conference Technical Tour departs Sydney on Monday 27 March and arrives in Coffs Harbour in time for the Welcome Reception and Trade Preview on Tuesday evening. • The Conference then kicks off in earnest on the morning of Wednesday 29, with the Conference Dinner that night. • On Thursday the Conference continues with more great keynotes, concurrent sessions and workshops, followed by the Conference BBQ. • On Friday 31 there are four options to choose from including a Field Trip and 18 holes of golf! Friday wraps up by 3pm in order to allow delegates time to catch all the afternoon flights home, though we highly recommend staying in Coffs Harbour for the weekend!
The conference program is designed around the main theme of 'Practical solutions for Australia's waste managers'. Due to the diversity of the issues that we need to cover the program includes several streamed sessions with presentations addressing certain themes. Most of the presentations at this conference are limited to twenty minutes, which provides for more dynamic information exchange and allows more question time in the sessions.
The program also features a workshop on Evaluation which is a key task often overlooked, and a panel Discussion and Workshop on Organics which will tackle separation, collection, processing etc.
The impressive array of speakers includes the following Keynotes:
• Geoff Rathbone – Waste Management Director from the City of Toronto, Canada
• Mark Dempsey – Member of Parliamentary Sustainable Waste Management Group, United Kingdom
• Genia McCaffery - President of the NSW Local Government Association
