The 13th Annual NSW Coastal Conference was held at Rafferty’s Resort, Lake Macquarie on November 9-12, 2004.
The 2004 NSW Coastal Conference featured keynote addresses from The Hon. Craig Knowles MP, Jennifer Westacott, Prof. Ian Lowe, Dr Tony Wong and Jack Thompson, along with case studies, workshops, field trips, poster presentations and exhibitions...
Rafferty's Resort provided a great venue for the event over the three days, and delegates enjoyed a range of exciting social activities and networking opportunities
will allowed for even greater exchange of information
and ideas on how we can better manage our
coastal environment. Lake Macquarie’s
unique location provides a living laboratory
to showcase current coastal management issues.
Australian Coastal Society/Alliance
At the Conference Professor Thom and Mel Bradbury conducted a workshop on the establishment of an Australian Coastal Society/Alliance. They are seeking to build up a contact list from those who attended the conference. If you are interested in being on a mailing list could you please send an expression of interest to bruce.thom@dipnr.nsw.gov.au. The plan is to formally establish the Society at the 2006 Coast to Coast Conference in Melbourne. In the meantime scoping information can be sent to you.
